A Fabulous Mother's Day Weekend!!

What a great weekend I had. It started out Friday with a whole day and night away kid free with my wonderful Husband. Thanks to our great friends The West's and The Schill's we left our kids behind and took off to the city. A gift certificate from the hockey team Kevin coaches was a great excuse to get away. We decided to stay at the Hotel Saskatchewan which was fabulous. Very swank I must say. We arrived after some shopping and met up with our great friends Lynnel and Jason for a night out on the town.

Our first stop was a great little Irish Pub up the street from where we were staying and then on to our supper at Golf's Steakhouse. The food and drinks were fabulous and the company wasn't half bad either.lol After a great supper we went back to our hotel for a drink in the posh lounge and a quick change of clothes and then off to the Casino regina. It definitley wasn't Vegas but we had fun all the same.

After a little gambling it was back to our hotel for some drinks in our room. A fantastic time was had by all.

Came home Saturday picked up the kids and we were back to reality.

Woke up sunday morning to my wonderful kids, who let me sleep in got ready and they took me for Brunch. It was very nice until the tryed to tell me Mother's day was like April Fool's day and was over at noon. I quickly corrected them and told them I was off for the whole day. We spent the afternoon watching the kid's at their music recital and then headed to Mrs. P's (the best ice cream place ever) for a Mother's Day treat. Kevin made supper that night so it was a Great Day. The only thing missing was getting to spend it with my Mommy!!

I had the greatest time yesterday with my two oldest kids on their annual school ski trip. Before you all make a comment like some certain male family members of mine, yes i mean you Mike, Jordan, and Tavis, we do have ski hills here with actual lifts even. I will admit that they don't compare to the beautiful mountains of B.C. but it is nice for me to have somewhere to take my kids to do something I used to as a kid. It was a great day out, and we all really enjoyed ourselves. The kids have caught on to skiing easily and while they took a break and hung out on the tubing hill I enjoyed some harder runs and realized how much I miss skiing. I am hoping one day when the other kids are a little older we can take a trip out to B.C and all go skiing with my extended family and show my kids the fun we had when I was younger.

I am Back

I haven't been on here for awhile as it was just one more thing for me to do each day and i just didn't seem to have enough hours in my day for everything. Hockey is winding down in my house so now we have some "down" time before ball starts if taht is even possible with four kids and 300 cows that are having babies right now. Thomas is done hockey for the year but William is still playing and for anyone that knows my kids that is a little bitter sweet to say the least. Thomas is the die hard hockey player that would play all year round if he could and William is just there to be there. Although Tom is sad it is kind of nice for William to have his own thing for an extra week or two.
To add to all my things to do we don't have a bus driver right now so I have to take the kids to school most days and bring them home. At least we have great neighbours to car pool with, but some days I just don't want to go anywhere.
Well hopefully I can keep things more up to date from now on!!

Nothing beats a Momma's love

My wonderful mother was just here to watch my kidlets so that I could go on my annual girl's weekend with my bff's. Every year I call her up and ask her if once again she will come and she always says yes. I love that I get to get away with my friends but at the same time it makes me a little sad that my mom is at my house and I am not there to visit her. It is always a sad day for me when I have to take her back to the airport to fly home. I know I chose this life which I love but I hate that it includes my family living 24 hrs away from me. I have the best Mom in the world I just wish she lived a little closer!!

Bullying

So my kids get off the bus yesterday and all at the same time start telling me about the mean kid on the bus. It certainly isn't the first time that they have complained about this child but it was the first time this school year. He is older than all my kids and this day decided to pick on William who is all of 6 yrs old. He repeated over and over to him that he was going to grow up to be fat just like his sister. So not only was he bullying William but Katie also in the process. So Katie nicely asked him over and over to stop but he wouldn't so finally William told him to shut up. I am so proud of my Katie for being nice and for William for sticking up for himself and his big sister. I found it very hard not to tell them both to punch the kid in the nose next time that is for sure. Just makes me wish I could protect my babies from everything but glad to know they are trying to protect each other.

Another thing for me to do!

Well since I don't have enough to do in my life (Can your hear the sarcasm) I have decided to start a blog to update my friends and family on my life and the life of my wonderful kidlets too. Also a place for me to vent my feelings when need be. Hope you enjoy!!
